Last week, we joined forces with Google and Pro Landscaper magazine to deliver the Pro Landscaper Tech event. Held at Google HQ in London, the exclusive event was aimed at businesses from within the landscaping industry and focused on the importance of digital marketing and an effective online presence.
The event had been put together over the past few months by our Account Director Ben Shaw, working alongside Eljays44, a leading events company and publisher of several well known industry magazines.
It was sponsored by CED Stone Group and Green-tech and included a number of talks and panel discussions from a range of experts. Taking place in Google’s Town Hall, the audience was made up of 160 of the landscaping industry’s finest.
Firstly, Jim Wilkinson, the Managing Director at Pro Landscaper, gave an introductory speech. This was followed by a talk from Google, entitled ‘Maximising Company Exposure’.
Adtrak’s fireside chat
Then it was over to us! We conducted a fireside chat and assembled a panel of our talented and highly knowledgeable staff. Lead by Ben Shaw, Account Director, with Anna Bridgeman, Internet Marketing Consultant, Chris McCormick, Senior Internet Marketing Consultant and Nathan O’Connor and Aaron Robb, Senior Paid Marketing Consultants, our panel answered questions about various marketing techniques and the best way to grow your business online.
CED Stone Group then took the reigns, focusing on how social media has helped their business. As a company we have worked closely with, previously on their social media and currently on their new website development, we helped to shape the content discussed in their presentation, providing top social media tips and best practice strategies.
Finally, a panel of experts – including Anna (who kindly stepped in to help at the last minute) and Chris Rutter, Head of Paid Marketing at Adtrak – took part in an industry discussion, ‘The Power of the Web’. Chris and Anna answered questions from the chair of the discussion Jim, as well as those from the audience.

The main takeaway from the day (aside from the fantastic goodie bag we put together with Google) was how vitally important it is for landscaping businesses to invest in digital marketing. Not only will it help them to reach and engage with their audience, but ultimately it will help to maximise their exposure and increase their profitability.
As a Google Premier Partner and member of the Google Premier Executive Council we get access to a wealth of insider knowledge, as well as an ideal (and pretty exciting) venue from which to share it with businesses! We’ve had lots of positive feedback from the event and it seems a great day was had by all who attended. We hope they took away lots of useful information and are able to use this to help develop and grow their business as a result.
