At Adtrak, we believe in supporting community, opportunity, and education. And that’s why we’re so proud to announce our support for the Welbeck Meadows project – an ambitious initiative that will transform education in Nottingham’s Meadows district and provide a brighter future for local children and their families.
What is the Welbeck Meadows Project?
Welbeck Primary School is one of the country’s top-performing primary schools. Rated “Outstanding” by OFSTED and recognised in 2024 as Nottingham’s best school, Welbeck consistently exceeds national averages in reading, writing, and maths.
Currently, the school serves 360 pupils aged 2 - 11. But once pupils leave Year 6, they move on to as many as 14 different secondary schools, often facing long commutes (often requiring two bus journeys and a walk) across the city and further afield. This transition can lead to disrupted learning, uncertainty, instability and, in some cases, exclusion.
Welbeck Meadows is the vision that will change that. Welbeck Primary is creating an all-through school on the existing site at Kinglake Place (NG2 1NT), offering seamless, continuous education from nursery through to age 16. Offering unparalleled educational opportunities, personalised learning, strong individual support and a focus on career pathways, the school’s small year groups will ensure every pupil reaches their full potential.
With an estimated cost of £30 million, the development will include state-of-the-art teaching spaces, specialist facilities for dance and performance, and landscaped areas designed for social interaction. Beyond education, the project will bring economic benefits including job creation, investment, and local business growth.
Headteacher Rebecca Gittins explains:
“Welbeck Meadows is about more than just a school – it’s about creating a future for children living in The Meadows where education, creativity, and opportunity can go hand in hand.”
How Adtrak Became Involved
Our introduction to this initiative came through Adtrak account manager Aalia, whose family member works at Welbeck. Hearing about the project’s vision, as well as the determination of its headteacher, inspired our team to get involved.
In particular, Adtrak’s Assistant Director of Sales and Marketing George Musson championed the cause, encouraging not only our support but an active role in helping the campaign.
Adtrak’s Role
We’re incredibly proud to be supporting Welbeck Meadows through a mix of creative services, sponsorship, and consultancy, including:
- Website design & development - We’ve designed and built a website for the project, with Aalia detailing the vision, the need and the plan, along with details of how to get involved and pledge support. Thanks to Dave, Head of Web for pulling it all together.
- Branding – The Welbeck Meadows logo and brand have been expertly designed by Matt Proctor in our creative team.
- Video & photography – Working with Welbeck’s teachers and pupils, Alasdair & Rich in our Photography team have shot and produced a video capturing the spirit of this exceptional school.
- Marketing consultancy – Our team has been on hand to discuss ways in which we can help amplify the message and encourage more supporters.
- Sponsorship – As well as supporting the project itself, Adtrak is also a sponsor of the official launch event on 2nd October.
The launch will unite Nottingham’s business community and public sector around the project’s core message: Transforming education and community development in the Meadows, Nottingham.
A collective effort
We are not alone in supporting Welbeck Meadows. Other Nottingham organisations, including V Formation, are contributing PR and event expertise, while many businesses and leaders are offering sponsorship and advocacy. Influential local figures including Sir John Peace (Midlands Engine), author Jacob Dunne, Sir Paul Smith, Wolfgang Buttress, singer songwriter Jake Bugg, Mayor Clare Ward, MP Lilian Greenwood, Shane Meadows, among others, have all backed the campaign.
This collective commitment highlights just how significant the project is, not only for the children it will serve, but for the wider Nottingham community.
Why it matters
Welbeck Meadows offers a once-in-a-generation opportunity to:
- Provide stability and continuity in learning that supports every child’s emotional, academic, and social development.
- Improving attainment and wellbeing while reducing exclusions and drop outs.
- Opening pathways to apprenticeships, higher education, and careers.
- Delivering wider community benefits such as jobs and investment.
Looking ahead
As the project requires significant funding, the ambitious target is to secure statutory project costs from the Department for Education and aims to raise over £5 million. Already, £0.5 million has already been provided in kind by corporate partners and supporters.
For Adtrak, our involvement is about more than digital expertise. It’s about aligning with a cause that reflects our values: giving back to our city and supporting opportunities that can change lives.
We’re proud to stand alongside Welbeck Meadows and invite our clients, partners, and peers to get involved, as together, we can make a difference.
Welbeck Meadows: where every child belongs.
