Adtrak at RWM 2016

The RWM exhibition is the UK’s premier event for resource efficiency and waste management solutions. Covering all aspects of the waste hierarchy, it caters to the demands of this rapidly growing sector and provides them with information and advice on a host of issues, challenges and potential areas for growth.

This year, held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham between 13th and 15th September, over 500 exhibitors attended the event – and we were delighted to be one of them!

The Adtrak team came equipped with a wealth of marketing material. Headed up by Adtrak’s Creative Director, James O’Flaherty, and created by our incredibly talented Graphics and Photography departments, our impressive kit included the stand designs, a brochure, videos and merchandise. All of this helped to ensure we stood out and could provide the 13,000 visitors RWM attracts with the information and expert advice they required.

Over the three day event, we were able to meet and network with a host of waste management companies, advising them on the importance of effective digital marketing and a successful online presence.

Speaking at the Circular Economy Connect Theatre

We were also invited to speak at the event and Xavier Hodgetts, one of our Account Directors, collaborated with Wim Wauters, an Account Manager at Google, to deliver a fantastic talk focusing on the best way to grow a waste management business online and, ultimately, increase customers and generate calls.

Xavier and Wim spoke to a full house at the Circular Economy Connect Theatre (see above for full video) where they delivered an insight into search trends and modern methods of marketing. Their main points included:

-Good branding is vital when trying to make a good impression. We advise making sure logos are simple and stand out from the crowd. In addition, company branding, should be both suitable and consistent across all mediums

– As mobile search continues to increase, it is more important than ever to have a responsive website which perfectly balances functionality with design.

-PPC (Pay per Click) is a fantastic form of online marketing. With options to keep campaigns broad or incredibly niche, it gives waste management companies the opportunity to directly target their chosen consumers.

-Working hand in hand with great content, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) targets keyword search and allows businesses to reach their audience at every stage of the research and buying process.

-Social media is a brilliant way to provide businesses with a voice, meaning they can connect with potential customers on subjects associated with their industry.

-To ensure the most effective marketing strategy, it is key to utilise a measured approach. Therefore, businesses must measure efficiencies at lead generation point and how this can influence their marketing spend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the RWM exhibition and we’re looking forward to attending more events and exhibitions over the coming months. Xavier summed it up perfectly, saying:

“It was a fantastic three days meeting and speaking with people in the heart of the waste management and recycling industry. It was lovely to speak with our many existing clients who visited the stand, as well as meet people from a number of businesses across the UK who we hope took advantage of our specialist knowledge and expert advice.”
