Earlier this month the Adtrak team ventured to FutureScape, the UK’s leading event for the landscaping industry.
Held at Sandown Park Racecourse on the 15th November, the event is a must for landscapers, designers and architects and is one of the most celebrated events in the landscaping and horticultural calendar. Account Director, Ben Shaw, who led the event, headed down to FutureScape with Simon Congdon and Richard Dean, from our photography team, fellow Account Director Xavier Hodgetts, and Chris McCormick, one of our Marketing Consultants.
BALI & Adtrak
Spending the day in the aptly named ‘Adtrak Zone’, we came equipped with a range of marketing materials, including our fantastic stand design and takeaway postcards.
We were there following our partnership with BALI (the British Association of Landscaping Industries) and spoke to both FutureScape’s visitors and exhibitors about how important it is that landscaping businesses have an effective online presence and a strategic digital marketing campaign.
Four tips to takeaway
We spoke at length with lots of landscaping companies and gave them some top tips on how to improve their businesses through the use of online marketing. Our tips included:
#1 Make sure your website is mobile friendly
As search trends continue to shift, it is becoming more important than ever to have a responsive website. Google’s Test My Site page is a really quick and simple way to determine how mobile friendly a website is.
#2 Display your portfolio professionally
For many companies, including those within the landscaping industry a professional portfolio is vital. This is where businesses can showcase their work to potential clients and add personality to their brand.
#3 Ensure your site can be easily found
Whether through SEO and organic rankings, or PPC ads which directly target customers, it is vital that both website creation and marketing are considered as part of a consistent online strategy.
#4 Consider your brand across all applications
Good branding is critical for a good first impression. However, it’s important that when deciding on a new logo and brand identity, it is considered across all applications and mediums.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at FutureScape and loved meeting new people from the landscaping industry.

“The whole day went incredibly smoothly, from the planning and set-up through to meeting and networking throughout the day in the Adtrak Zone. We met some great people, and are looking forward to helping and working with many of them in the future. We also received some really fantastic feedback. We hope to be part of this event again and look forward to our next events with BALI – which are coming up very soon!”
