Alan Pearce, a Senior Graphic Designer here at Adtrak, headed up the development of the Trent Basin branding. He used the history of the site, as well as its immediate surroundings, to determine the concept of the logo and brand guidelines.
Focusing on their industrial heritage of the site, the chosen concept used a boilerplate-style logo. The containing shape of the logo was influenced by old chocolate box labels, a direct reference to one of the products loaded onto vessels within the basin over the last century. In addition, tranquil blues and greens were chosen for the colour palette, reflecting the surrounding water and sky views.
Secondary elements were also created, using trees in a simple line graphic. This helped to support the brand and give the Trent Basin development a welcoming, friendly feel.
Once the brand guidelines had been finalised, we created a wealth of supporting marketing literature, including brochures and floor plan graphics. We also created a large image bank to support all Trent Basin’s additional marketing efforts. This included a mix of cultural, local and active lifestyle images to reflect the vibrancy and diversity of the new community.
