In September, two of our Internet Marketers, Milly and John, attended MarketEd.Live at the Nottingham Contemporary gallery. We’re always excited to attend industry events, and we’d have been foolish to turn down such an opportunity right on our doorstep. With plenty of talks from business owners, heads of departments and exciting young talents in the marketing industry, we couldn’t wait to get started.
Chris Marr – A content marketing teacher and student, Chris offered his wisdom about the types of content that creators should be focusing on. He spoke about The Big 5 from the book, They Ask You Answer.
Emma Leech – The Director of Marketing and Advancement at Loughborough University gave a talk about the power of public relations, emphasising the importance of trust and reputation in marketing.
Howard Jones – The Head of Comms at EE provided us with interesting stats and insights into how people are using technology and phones. He highlighted the contrast in the use of calls and data: the former is decreasing, whilst data use is rising rapidly.
Hannah McCreesh – The Head of Content & Partnership at the Podcast Website talked about the continuing rise of the podcast, specifically how the continuing popularity of podcasts means that they can make for a very powerful marketing tool.
Timothy Armoo – Timothy is the CEO of Fanbytes – the world’s 1st Snapchat influencer network. Throughout his speech, he spoke about how huge companies including Warner, Universal and Sony were reaching ”Gen Z’ by marketing to teenagers on Snapchat.
Chris Strub – The CEO of I Am Here had many interesting stories to tell. An award winning marketer and twice published author, Chris gave a talk about how he was the first person to use live-streaming and Snapchat in all 50 U.S. states.
Ross Davies – The managing director of Strafe Creative talked about some interesting topics including voice search, blockchain, hyper-personalisation and more.
Paul Ince, the founder and host of MarketEd.Live kept us entertained between talks. The atmosphere was great, and we learned a lot across a variety of topics, all of which has been fed back to our marketers here at Adtrak to help us improve our services. And last but not least, the food was great too! Thanks to everyone at MarketEd.Live for a wonderful day!
